License-plate frame crackdown begins Thursday

Motorists should check their license plates tonight to make sure they don't ring in the New Year with a ticket.

Starting Thursday, it is illegal for a car's license-plate frame to obscure the word 'Arizona.'

26 immigrants say they were kidnapped, left in desert

Authorities on Monday found a group of 26 immigrants who said they were kidnapped and left in the desert for eight days without food or water, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Chase Bank to lay off 110 Valley workers

Chase Bank announced plans Wednesday to lay off 110 workers in metro Phoenix and 270 workers in Milwaukee.

Chase spokeswoman Christine Holevas said the employees work in its home-equity group.
